i need a pint

An interactive button and sticker dispenser for when you need a pint!

University work or any type of work can be rewarding yet tiring. Sometimes, all I need after a long day, is a nice, cold pint; to unwind, relax and take a break from the hustle and bustle. It can be a chance to spend time with your peers outside of doing work and have a chat. In the studio, it’s not uncommon to hear an offer to go to the pub. But how often do people ‘need a pint’? What pint will they have? Where will they go? With who?

When the button is pressed, it counts and records the date and time and amount of presses to an SD card. It also triggers a 3D printed dispenser that driven by a sevo to dispense a sticker. The stickers have prompts, on which people can write their answers and stick it back on to the podium, turning it into something like a message board. This project is both a source of research collection as well as fun interaction. The button, dispenser and SD card are controlled by an arduino that I coded.
